Futura

This motion design project highlights the history, characteristics, and style of the font “Futura.” The informational animation breaks down the font to inform the audience—students, laymen, and graphic designers alike—about its use. “Futura” was influenced by the Bauhaus movement, minimalism, and geometry. Most notably, it is frequently featured in media relating to space, such as the blockbuster hit “Alien” and the Apollo 11 mission to the moon. Minimalistic geometric designs emulate the characteristics of the font, and a techno synth track communicates the feeling of space travel.
